I’m Steve Sanchez, a father, husband, and retired juvenile probation officer with more than 30 years of hands-on experience working with youth and families. Over the years, I’ve seen what happens when guidance is missing — and how transformation begins when accountability and compassion walk together.
Today, I take those lessons from the field and bring them home — sharing honest, story-driven content to help parents build character, resilience, and leadership in their children. Drawing upon my 30 years of experience as a Los Angeles County Probation Officer in the juvenile division, coupled with my academic background in philosophy, website design, and education, my mission is to empower parents with the tools and insights needed to nurture responsible, well-rounded individuals. Through a blend of practical advice, evidence-based strategies, and compassionate storytelling, I aim to support parents in their daily journey of raising children who are not only well-behaved but also well-prepared to thrive in an ever-changing world. Join me as we explore the art and science of parenting, every day of the year.
I'm excited to share a wonderful update about my daughter's journey with the behavioral chart we introduced when she was 4 years old. Although we initially implemented the chart to guide her behavior, the real success story unfolded in just 5 days. Surprisingly, we didn't need the chart after that short period, but the impact it had was profound and lasting.
The chart became a catalyst for opening lines of communication between us, helping us both to understand and align our expectations. This tool not only improved her behavior in the immediate term but also taught us both valuable lessons about expressing our needs and listening to each other. Today, she is more aware of what is expected of her and is keen to meet those expectations, showing great maturity for her age.
This experience has reinforced my belief in using thoughtful, supportive tools in parenting, and it has been a beautiful journey watching her grow and adapt using the simple, yet effective strategies we tried. We look forward to continuing this path of open communication and mutual understanding as she grows.
She is 5 now. I am living the "Dream".
